We’re always so excited to re-stock new shades from Three Fates Yarns, a local Salem (Oregon) indie dyer. Our latest shades are bright and fun, and ready for spring!
First, we’ve brought in a new (to us) line called Chione DK. Marie is working on a sample with it now — it’s a plump DK with a great twist and generous yardage (250 yards). Because it is created in small batches, it’s perfect for single-skein projects like hats, cowls, or mitts.
Terra Sock is a favorite, and the new shades are perfect for spring shawls or socks!
Back in stock! We have a new shipment of Ashford Sample-It weaving looms. Did you know: When you purchase a loom from Tangled Purls, Vivian will provide an hour of free training on how to use it! A loom is a terrific resource for fiber play when you want to do a little something different, use up some leftover stash yarn, or just create a very quick gift.
Also back in stock: Knitter’s Pride Blocking Mats! If you haven’t tried blocking with mats yet, you’ll love the convenience (and these work great with Knitter’s Pride Blocking Pins!).
We had a terrific time with guest designer Lisa Ellis last Saturday, and the classes were packed full! Thank you to everyone who joined us for a wonderful day of fiber education. The students left inspired and excited. Thank you, Lisa Ellis, for bringing your enthusiasm and wonderful teaching style to our shop!
There’s no such thing as a gray day in Salem at Tangled Purls, because our store is always so bright and colorful!
We are gearing up for our visit from Lisa Ellis this Saturday and will be enjoying a day filled with classes and inspiration. We still have one or two spots open for classes with Lisa, so if you pop in today or tomorrow you can snag one of the last spots!
We’ve added new items to our clearance section — it’s spilling over with great bargains, even some in sweater quantities! These are just a few of them…
We have great things ahead for 2016 and can’t wait to share them with you. In the meantime, come knit with us, take a class, or start a new project!
There is still room for you in one of three fabulous classes with guest designer Lisa Ellis of Lisa Ellis Designs, who will be visiting Tangled Purls on Saturday, January 23rd.
Learn the art of Norwegian Thimble Knitting! This technique is handy for easier fair isle knitting, and is a great way to work double knitting in the round. If you are intrigued by color work or just want to expand your skill set, this class is for you! Session is $40 + supplies.
Moebius creates a fun and unique “twist” on knitting a cowl. Learn this clever method for creating an infinite twist, and get to know the cast on that Lisa calls “crazy fun!” A dozen moebius patterns are included in the class fee! $25 + supplies.
Twined knitting creates a super warm fabric with uniquely twisted stitches. The class covers twining flat and in the round using either one or two colors. Lisa includes five twined patterns for your to choose from (included in the class price!). Session is $40 + supplies.
For more information or to sign up for these classes, stop by Tangled Purls!
Our regular classes, like Knitting 101 (with Brittney Bailey) and Choose Your Own Project (with Sharon Everette) are available with our regular teaching staff, as well, while space is available. Also, remember that Helen Burros is hosting her Sweet Sixteen Sock Club on Ravelry starting now and running throughout 2016.
We will be closed today, Monday, January 4th, due to icy road and parking lot conditions. We plan to open at our regular time (11 am) tomorrow.
Our shop hours & information, due to inclement weather, will be posted in these places:

We will generally close or delay if Salem-Keizer School District closes or delays, but in some cases, we may decide to close early even if school is still open, or have a late opening instead of being closed all day. You will find the most up-to-date information on what we are up to if you check online.
Stay home, if you can, and be cozy!
